Provider Education
The Latino Diabetes Initiative team offers continuing medical education (CME) to clinicians on a national and international level. Provider education programs offered by the Initiative address the needs of the full primary care team—including physicians, dietitians, nurse practitioners, nurses, medical assistants and other health workers. Our strategy is to improve knowledge and expertise among community-based health professionals through training that is accessible and applicable to their needs. As part of this effort, we provide information about diabetes prevention, education and treatment, with a particular emphasis on cultural sensitivity.
